Laura R. Gibson

Laura received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Indiana in 2005 and her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2008. She passed the bar that same year and began her career as a public defender, representing indigent people facing charges in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony courts.

Laura spent over a decade as a municipal prosecutor, handling felony cases at their preliminary hearings and misdemeanor criminal and traffic offenses through arraignment, plea, motion hearing, court trial, jury trial, and appeal. She has worked closely with village, city, county, and state law enforcement agencies. Her philosophy as a prosecutor was to seek justice and treat others with fairness so that everyone in a case felt heard and respected.

Laura has always had a special interest in OVI cases. She has provided local training to police officers and troopers in OVI enforcement and successfully completed the student course for ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driver Enforcement) in 2017. Laura’s practice focuses mostly on misdemeanor criminal and traffic charges.
